Reyhan Huseynova Elected Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science

The Azerbaijan Future Studies Society is pleased to announce that its President, Reyhan Huseynova, has been elected a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS).

Founded in 1960, the World Academy of Art and Science was established by a distinguished group of scientists, intellectuals, and international public figures. Among those associated with its foundation were J. Robert Oppenheimer, Bertrand Russell, Albert Einstein—recognized posthumously as a charter member—Joseph Needham, co-founder of UNESCO, Lord John Boyd Orr, the first Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization, and Brock Chisholm, the first Director-General of the World Health Organization.

The Academy brings together distinguished experts from around the world to address humanity’s most pressing challenges through science, education, interdisciplinary dialogue, and international cooperation.

Commenting on her election, Reyhan Huseynova stated:

“I am deeply honored and grateful to have been elected a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science. For me, this recognition is not only a personal honor, but also an acknowledgment of the work we have been carrying out in Azerbaijan in the fields of education, future studies, and international collaboration.”

Reyhan Huseynova’s election to the Academy is regarded as a significant event for Azerbaijan’s scientific community. She is the first Azerbaijani woman to be elected a Fellow of this prestigious international institution, making an important contribution to the international recognition of Azerbaijan’s scientific and intellectual potential.

As President of the Azerbaijan Future Studies Society and representative of the Azerbaijan Node of the Millennium Project, Reyhan Huseynova has consistently worked to strengthen connections between Azerbaijani institutions and leading international intellectual and research networks.

Her election also reflects Azerbaijan’s growing contribution to international dialogue on the future of education, sustainable development, global cooperation, and long-term societal transformation.

This new role will create further opportunities to represent Azerbaijan within global expert discussions and to expand cooperation between the Azerbaijan Future Studies Society and the international academic community.
